Welcome Message

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to announce that the 19th International Conference on Magnetism will be held in Busan, Korea, July 8~13, 2012. The field of magnetism is rapidly growing all over its industry and related academic areas in Korea. The Korean magnetic community has been the 3rd largest in terms of participants in the recently held major international conferences on magnetism. In addition, as one of the countries leading the world in various industry fields, Korea is recognized as a role model for all developing countries.

The host city, Busan, is the second largest city and the most beautiful port city in Korea. It has an attractive balance between a long, rich heritage of dynasties and a recently developed modern culture. Especially, Busan is the place where the most advanced ancient iron age was bloomed in 5,000 years of Korean history. The city's natural endowments and rich history have resulted in Busan's increasing reputation as a world class city of tourism and culture, and it is also becoming renowned as an international convention destination.

Busan is accessible by air travel. Direct airlines to Busan from Japan (5 lines/daily) and from China (9 lines/daily) are available. By transferring from Incheon Int'l Airport, visitors around the world could easily get to Busan in 50 minutes. Incheon Int'l Airport serves worldwide visitors with total of 67 international airlines from 168 cities in 51 countries around the world.

We cordially invite you to join us and be part of this emerging, inter-disciplinary field at the 19th International Conference on Magnetism. We hope that you will take this chance to explore one of the most exciting and wonderful countries in the world. We are looking forward seeing you in Busan, 2012.
